RADELLA say WHAAAAT? open to all the forest of finery was the gateway to a murky deathtrap. this was somewhat like life, hmm? one of airy-and-very-important-nature, who seemed to float on air, got stuck in a large mound of guilt or whatever emotional muck you can think up, and slowly drowns in it. it's not very hard, and it is surpisingly simple. all you need to do is find some very emotional loser, twist him up, and then let him unwind and fall. rad had done it many times before. it practically rode on her back, per say. but, in reality, there was a beautiful forest, and there was an opening that would lead you to a particularly nasty swamp area. billowing wafts of gunk floated from its surface, little bubbles of gas taking flight into the atmosphere. it was easy for rad to get lost here. it was so much like her own life. beauty on the outside, horrible on the inside. but really, weren't we all somewhat like that? radella ryme slipped through the shadows to the edge of the water, settling herself carefully out of reach of the lip of the liquid. thick brown locks tickled the surface of the pool, and she pulled back to avoid getting her freshly done lime green streak tainted. yes, rad fell for mortal pleasures like tattoo's and haircoloring. why not make a statement? she was clothed in simple bluejeans, ripped with wear, and a men's dress shirt. she was very...vulnerable, here by the water, with her back to the world. but in truth she only came here to taunt the kelpies beneath the water. come out and play, little fleas, the soft, teasing voice whispered into the pool. she twirled an experimental finger in the water. she splashed once, and then backed up and waited along shore. it was her experience kelpies were only powerful in the water; on land they were mere horses, something she could fight anyday. though, again, she loved to ride them when in her glamour. of course, she killed the owner and took the animal for a joyride, but that was simply atra nature. why not have some fun? but then again, she admired the kelpies, because in their lowliness, their vain stupidity, they had a freedom beneath the water that she could never have. of course, she was a fae, with magic they did not possess. why did she feel the urge to just strip and slip into the water? it meant certain death, for sure, but twas so tempting to skid in the broadside and hope you survived. the pale features were twisted slightly as something underneath the pool brushed its surface. she decided not to taunt them again, and wait for their sure retorts. she'd only done this...hmm...once before? but it had been fun, and unfortunately she had chickened out and decided to leave before any of the real fun began. but better to be safe than sorry. she stood, climbing a foot upwards, onto a large boulder protruding from the edge of the earth. very cautiously she settled herself there and twirled her fingers around, because it was just oh-so-enjoyable to wait.

Ronja liked a little adventure in her life. She liked a little pain, a little uncertainty, the feeling of being out of control. It made life and love making that much more interesting. So since she was in no mood to stick to the castle another minute, she decided to leave for a while. This was near Atra land, a place she never hoped to go. And maybe her subconscious liked the idea of running into an angry Apollo again, because that probably been some of the best sex she'd ever had. Even if the Ceremony was a disaster and this was a dumb idea. Imagine if she got caught....
Ah, thats what made it fun.
Her unusually dark Argentum hair was pulled back into a sleek ponytail and she was clad in shades of green. The weather was getting colder now and she had on loose fitting dark pants and a long sleeved shirt of a lighter color. She blended in well. This swamp was so dank and misty. It felt like a human vampire movie. Oh if they only knew.... There were several dark trees around and over the water, and large rocks placed randomly within the murk. Ronja had climbed a tree and had worked her way across a section of dull colored water in the over hanging branches. She was croutched on a hidden limb as she watched another approach. The new figure was a woman, fae, dressed as a mortal, and after disrupting the Kelpies, she hung back on a rock. Ronja just watched the figure with har dark eyes. Friend or foe?

of course, it was only natural for rad to be startled by the sudden appearance of the golden-skinned woman, the dark eyes meeting the light ones in a silent challenge. and her surprise showed on her features; her spine straightened and her fingers curled into claws on the boulder. the nails scraped the outside of the rock, and she adjusted herself to a slightly feral crouch, and then straightened fully, her slender limbs supporting her easily. though the other was fairly hard to see, the slight movements and brushes against the trunks of the trees had given her away. still, rad had to squint to get a good look at her. she was of a pretty sort, rad supposed, but being the selfish sort, she would never have said so out loud. plus, she smelled like argentum.
radella turned her body to face the woman, cocking her head playfully to one side. come out, girlie, she called, her voice surprisingly bitter and crisp on the wind, but the tones melodic. she crossed her arms over her chest, beautiful eyes trained on the girl. she tried to figure her out, to stare her down, and tried to make her back off, but what would that give her? nothing, really. nothing but unsatisfied cravings for adventure, and a little fall-off-the-cliff feelings in her life.
but then another strange thought struck her. why was this woman in atra land? technically, by rad's own rules, this lady could be punished for this. wasn't she the least bit nervous? rad let a smile slip onto her face, light, teasing eyes holding the dark ones. i seeee you! she cackled, and flopped casually back down on the rock. her confusing personality was hopefully confusing ronja more. my name is radella, rad for short. i suppose your's is chicken? or am i being to kind? scaredy cat? she made an annoyed gesture with her hand, and also slapping a one-fingered-salute in there too. come out, before i have to drag you out.

Ronja narrowed her eyes. Was this fae older than her and therefore unafraid or younger and foolish? That would determine so much if she knew for sure. But Ronja didn't like taunts and her gaze darkened and she gracefully leapt from her spot in the tree to the rock. There was no reason to run, or to waste any time. She just wanted a changed, a little danger. No need to stay long, just long enough. Besides, this Atra was just too cocky for Ronja's taste. Did this, Radella, think mere words would scare her away? Not Ronja.
She crouched on the rock, still keeping her guard up, despite the fact that her Atra counterpart was laying back on the rock. "I'm Ronja." She said decided that Rad had given her a real name. Of course, names were risky business, especially with the Atra involved. Look what happened to the Queen. Supposedly, they had found out her whole name and she had stepped down, letting her brother take her place. That was the rumor anyway, but judging by the air in the castle, Ronja was inclined to agree.
After a moment she straightened a little, but her senses were just as sharp and she was waiting for the unexpected strike that had to be coming. Kelpies weren't friendly to fae of either alliance, so they had to keep this from getting too involved, otherwise they would find themselves fighting on the same side.
"Don't call me girlie." That was worse than chicken or scaredy cat.

well, this had just gotten interesting. ronja dearest had introduced herself, though still held a defensive position on the rock, which was perfectly dandy, but annoyed rad a little because she was quite content on having a brawl here, but also fine with a heated conversation. because, of course, atra and argentum fae could never truly get along, could they? no, rad supposed not, because she never once had had an inclination to like an argentum, or an atra, for that matter. neither really appealed to her - so then why was she not a solitary faerie? well, simply put, she was valuable. most may not know it yet, but rad herself was extremely good at practically anything she did. of course, she killed herself in her free time practicing, had so many bruises hidden she couldn't count, but she strived to be the best for a secret she hadn't told anyone: beneath that hard-core outter shell, she was self-conscious, tired of being second best so working her cute ass off to be top. and boy howdy, she did do well at being pretty good. she was an excellent fighter, learning the best from a karate teacher in the mortal world (yes, besides haircoloring and tattoo's, rad was fond of karate). of course, she left before she could break her careful composure and kill him. but unlike most atra fae, she had never had a child, and therefore never swapped her babies with someone elses. of course, rad was one to go and make love to any man who walked by, so she should be having tons of babies soon, but she wasn't really up to it yet - and right now, she was distracted.
don't call me girlie.
ooh, dear, had rad hit a nerve? maybe, but only further delving would find out. "honey, puh-lease. i call people what i want. but if you keep your head on, i'll call you ronja. or ronny. something tasteful." she cocked her head to the side and put her finger on her chin. she never broke eye contact though and spared ronja little blinking time. rad was calculating her chances of winning in a fight, and figuring out what to do if it indeed turned to that. well, looked like ronny was very agile, but with her muscles all stiff, she would be delayed a couple seconds in the event of an attack. soooo, rad would charge and kick her legs from under her, thus sending her to the ground, thus stunning her for maybe two seconds. that was all rad needed though -
wait. stop. focus on the situation at hand, and don't get too excited. she brought her mind back to ronja, and watched the golden-toned woman with careful eyes. "i'm surprised no kelpies have decided to join the party." she glanced back to the water. the murky depths once again taunted her. but she noticed something strange about ronja. "hon, what're those marks doin' all over your back?" of course, rad already thought she had an idea, but it was just a hunch.
i had read your earlier thread with apollo. i'm trying to make some conversation here. if you don't want rad to know about that, just tell me and i'll revise this.

Ronja loosened a little as she watched the Atra girl as she spoke. Maybe she was more into cat and mouse than the actual fight, which was just fine, danger was danger. As long as she wasn't about to become a slave or anything, she could manage. She kept her eyes on Rad the whole time, a stare down wouldn't intimidate her, Ronaj was one of the roughest Argentum... at least, the roughest lady. Well, maybe not, this was no time to be thinking about this. She shook her head slightly, her eyes flickering away from her opponent for a moment.
None of her words phased her, she was not going to dignify them with a comment of response. However, at the mention of her back, she looked over her shoulder and reached a hand to the back of her neck. Were they so obvious? Her shirt hid most of them, and her hair was long so that even though it was up, it hung around her. Were they still red after a few days? Dammit.
"Nothing important," Ronja said simply. And it wasn't important, just a fling under the stars with an Atra. No harm no foul. Right? It had been enjoyable and all, but no need to discuss it with her. None of her business.
ooc- sorry its short, and that's fine =)

rad snorted, because it was oh-so-obvious that ronny didn't want to talk about what had given her those scars. walk with me, talk with me, she chortled, skipping forward and grabbing ron's arm. i don't bite. she didn't expect ron to be happy about her touching her and junk, but rad was not one to be cautious, so she slipped her arm through ron's and tugged her farther into the foliage. gawd, muddy much? she hissed at the ground, launching herself hither and tither to escape the bothersome wet earth. rad never once let her eyes slip to ron, never once gave any indication of being...nervous of the girl. if anything, she gave off the air of not caring. but she was going to test this babe, test her to see if she was worth rad's attention.
radella unhooked her arm from ron's, and clicked her tongue. her brown curls cascaded down her back as she shook her head. by the look of those marks, hon, you had a very in-depth interaction with someone...against a...oh gawd, a tree? nuh-uh! lemme see! and rad simply waltzed behind ron and yanked her shirt up to survey the healing but still pink marks. fuck, girl, look at those bark marks! you were getting it on, let me tell you!
rad hid the fact that she had in fact stumbled upon apollo and ronja, from yards away, and had turned the other cheek. well, what can ya say? rad was just naturally sneaky, and she wasn't about to give up her secret now. but a strange desire had washed over her then - a horny one. you can laugh, yes, but radella had been keeping tabs on apollo ever since that night. one day she might just find him and make love against a tree. maybe. but for right now, she kept her attention on ronja and focused all her energy on trying to make something of her. could this possibly work?
maybe, but radella was known for screwing things up.

Ronja followed without complaint. Granted, she wasn't really in the mood to discuss her sex life with a girl she had just met. Sure she was a fairly open and bold person, but really... As if she would talk to Rad in that same young and virginal way, 'ooh what did you doooo' no one really talked like that. Not at this age, they were too old for this. So she had sex against a tree, big deal.
Her footing would have been better if she hadn't been forced to link arms with Rad. Ronja was agile and quick, years of dance had certainly helped, so she picked her way along the path easily as she could beside the Atra. The mud didn't bother her much anyway. Grime didn't bother the lady much. She was rougher around the edges than most Argentum fae court ladies.
Where the hell were they go? Ronja sighed as she picked her way across the landscape, thankful for the release of her arm. Rad certainly didn't have to tell her how intense the sex was, Ronja remembered.

you make it very hard to talk to you, the atra said, her voice soft and very, very cold. her personality had shifted, her eyes changed slightly to reveal her...darker mood. the world seemed a bit less friendly then around the two girls. you might be wondering, what the hell is this? well, this is one of rad's frequent and very distressing mood swings. it seemed as though...rad was putting on a mask. in effect, she was, but this only happened when she grew very annoyed and her blood got all hot. her back stiffened slightly, small crinkles appearing in her shirt. her gait was still graceful and loose - one thing she learned from experience: never, ever tense up your arms or legs. ever. and don't expect me to tell you why, either. anyways.
rad let her gaze slip onto the argentum, a small, weird smile twisting her lips. i remember...uhm...what was it? a long time ago, when we weren't at peace with one another. it was quite fun then. all i really had to do was place my hands...here. rad demonstrated by placing her palms right below ron's ears, but not actually touching the skin. and twist, and it got real cool then. rad retracted her hands, blankness on her face. she turned her whole body to face ronja, strange emotions practically rolling off her.
her fingers played with her jean pockets, and she let a sigh escape her lips. the beautiful, ivory-toned woman never broke eye contact with ron, because doing so would wound her inflating pride. she cracked her knuckles, because rad was all for those old moves from the past. the neon hair strand was tucked behind her ear. peace is a...vulnerable thing. it teeters on a very thin board, and it can shatter if you know how to work it right. she watched ron very carefully, her eyes calculating and emotionless. care to continue? and she waved a hand to move farther into the woods.

"Does the silence bother you?" Ronja asked lightly. Her biggest tactic was never to let your opponent know how you were feeling. So she said it off handedly, staying loose and calm in appearance but her mind was sharp and going farther into the woods was not a good idea at all. Closer to Atra land. She would not become a slave, no way no how. And she didn't trust Rad at all. From here she could find her way back, but from farther in... would she be so lucky?
She didn't move was Rad demonstrated how she could crack a neck. It was supposed to imply a threat and it was effective, but Ronja knew, if nothing else, she was faster than Rad. She had to be....
"I agree with you on the fact that peace is a thin wire, easily broken and hard to mend." Ronja began, keeping her footing. But she just wanted to run, this wasn't smart, it wasn't safe... and if she wasn't careful, her immortal life could change drastically if not end.
"But no, I won't go farther." Now the trick would be, how to turn her back on an enemy. Fool hardy of course, but how else could she leave? And would Rad force her to go on? Possibly. Could she fight her way out? Maybe. Why was she so doubtful these days? no doubt it was a left over of the whole Apollo, Nicholas fiasco and the tortured state her heart was in.
