The sleek body of the stallion burst from the foggy waters of the pond, the sudden splash of water breaking the silence of the meadow. Hooves pressed into the soft ground, sinking in slightly, as the kelpie walked the rest of the way out of the water and onto the grass. The large head moved left then right, crystal blue eyes taking in the surroundings. Nothing stirred, there was no sound except for the small 'pat pat pat' of the droplets falling from him and onto the grass. The kelpie snorted and stepped further into the meadow, ears perked up, ready to catch any sound. It was safe, there were no humans nearby, or he would have heard them by now.
Muddy hooves raised up as the kelpie reared, then all four hooves were back on the ground and he was galloping. Out of the meadow and through the thick trees. He'd run through here many times, whether in his horse or human form, and he was skilled at dodging the thick trees. He sped up, hooves kicking up dirt, avoiding any root that maybe be sticking out of the soft ground.
Soon the trees grew less and less closer together, and in what seemed like no time at all, he burst ouf ot the forrest and into the Maplewood Orchards. The trees were much further apart here, and they were aligned almost perfectly to each other. This was man made, and it would be evident even to those who didn't know how to look for it. This was most definitely not how nature would have grown these trees, the forrest he'd just burst from though, that was Mother Nature's work.
The gallop slowed to a trot, and the kelpie snorted as the Argentum palace came into view. The palace moved every now and then, and it was constantly changing. He wondered how those who lived within never got annoyed by this. He most certainly would have. Good thing he only stayed in the palace every now and then. When he got too tired of those of the court who saw him as a monster or abomination, he usually left. Usually he was gone for a day or two, but sometimes he'd disappear for weeks. The queen didn't like it, but not to the point where she would banish him and his services from the court.
He slowed to a walk and then stopped before the guards at the palace gates. They greeted him with a nod, and one of them even gave him a smile. Most of the guards were not as snobby as the royalty, and he liked them. He bowed his head, then walked into the courtyard as they stepped aside. The kelpie didn't quite feel like changing to his human form yet, so maybe he'd walk through the palace halls like this for a while. Sometimes he enjoyed terrifying those who saw him as a monster. For now he paced in the courtyard, gazing at the fountain in the centre as he waited for the beat of his heart to slow.

Ronja was happy to be in the palace, but she was beginning to crave the outdoors. She hadn't been on her typical run in what felt like ages. Despite the fact that she lived forever, a few days out of routine seemed long. So she had slid on leggings that clung tight to her skin and little dark slippers, a tunic of a shirt that hung loose over her form like a make shift dress. She was tying up her hair when she noticed a horse in the courtyard below. She titled her head slightly, curious. The air didn't smell like just an ordinary animal though, it had to be a kelpie then.
She swung herself over the railing and landed in a crouch, quite a bit louder than she had intended. "Hello." Ronja said straightening. She figured there was no real danger, the animal looked peaceful enough, and if someone had let the being in, then obviously it was not Atra nor harmful. Ronja wasn't quite sure how you addressed a kelpie, her dealings with them were limited. Despite her age and lust for danger. Ronja padded over quietly and stroked his mane and patted his shoulder once.
"So kelpie, got a name?" She asked with a smile. "And can you talk as a horse? I never relaly thought about that before." Ronja was in a decidedly quieter mood. Nature made her that way. Get her outside and she called right down.
ooc- kinda sucky, sorry.

His tail swished back and forth and he took a few more steps close to the fountain. He was about to peer in and look at his reflection when he caught movement to one side of him. He turned his head to see a slender, dark fae crouching by a railing near to him. A few steps had him turned around and facing her. Blue eyes looked up on her curiously, and his ears perked up as she spoke.
He watched as she moved forward, staying still as she approached him. Keiji was curious as to what she was going to do. Most fae, especially those of royal blood, were not all too friendly with the Kelpie. This one, though dressed quite commonly, had the sort of way about her that gave away her status. Keiji believed that he'd recognize this in her even if she were wearing rags. He shifted his weight a little as she petted his mane and then his shoulder. Well, that was certainly a friendly gesture.
The kelpie turned his head to look at her as she spoke again. At her question about him being able to talk in his horse form, he shook his head, careful not to hit her. Even thoug they weren't regular horses, Kelpie still didn't have the proper airwaves and whatnot for speech. They could neigh just fine, but words? No way.
He'd change into his human form, but he'd be quite naked. Keiji didn't have a problem with being naked in front of others, but if he were to suddenly be standing naked in the courtyard where children could see, the queen would not be too pleased with him. If he angered her enough, she'd send him to the Atra court to take care of something for her. Everyone knew that she saved the tasks that involved the dark court for those she was displeased with or simply disliked.
Maybe if they could go inside, they could go to his rooms and he'd have clothes there that he could change into. But for the moment he was content enough in his horse form to not yet try to explain to her what he wanted to do while having no vocal chords.

Ronja grinned as he shook his head. Well, obviously he wasn't in the mood to talk, because then he would have change into a more human form, right? Or would he not have clothes? She never bothered to learn that much about Kelpie. But as a horse, he could still understand her and she rubbed his side lightly, feeling his hair between her fingers. "So buddy, wanna go for a run?" She asked with raised eyebrows. She doubted she could keep up with him, but she was a very swift runner and the thrill of a race was sure to entice her. Ronja was in a wonderful mood, despite the fact that she was a whirlwind inside, she was feeling calmer already, maybe because it was such a nice day and she was outside.
She looked at the kelpie with her head titled. "Well, I'm going, catch me if you can." She winked lightly and patted his nose lightly with her fingertip. Ronja laughed, a loud, bright, musical sound and then she darted off, quick as a hummingbird across the courtyard and out of the castle, waving to the guards as she did so.
Ronja hoped the Kelpie would follow her, for one, she liked his energy and wondered what he was like when he wasn't a horse. Not to mention she loved the outdoors and she loved a challenge. Besides, if he was worried about nudity, there would be no one out on the fields nor between the trees, and she was no one to worry about. Ronja wasn't bothered by nudity at all. She herself wasn't bashful.

Buddy? He'd been called that a few times before when around humans, but he'd never quite figured out what it meant. He'd assume it meant friend for now or something. He let out a sound close to a chuckle, though with his horse physique it sounded more like a series of snorts. She wanted to run did she? Oh he would run with her. He didn't have anything he needed to take care of at the palace for a few hours.
'Well, I'm going, catch me if you can.'
Ears perked up at the sound of that melodious laughter, and crystal blue eyes watched her as she darted away from him, across the courtyard and then out through the gates. Keiji waited a few moments, then reared up and galloped after her. Her snorted at the guards as he ran past them, then out into the open air of the orchards. He slowed to a prance when he reached her, his head held high, white mane flying behind him.
Sure in this form he couldn't smile, but it was evident that he was having a good time. Keiji loved running. When he ran, he felt free, like nothing could stop him, nothing or no one could tell him what to do. He forgot all about the queen, the guards, the argentum court. There was nothing but him and the air and the sound of his hooves pounding into the dirt. One would think that, being a Kelpie, he'd love being in water more than out in the open air. And yes, Keiji liked the water, but it had never compared to the feel of the wind rushing by him, never for him.
He neighed, slowed down and then came up beside her again on the other side. How fast coud a fae run? He'd never quite seen one in action this way. He was curious.

Ronja grinned as she heard the hooves behind her, and he caught up quickly, which was to be expected. But fae were fairly fast, and Ronja was particularly quick. After about two hundred years of dance and running, she was quick and agile, she'd make a good fighter probably, but she liked being a Lady. The parties and the such, but she wasn't merely so shallow, she loved the lust for danger, too bad she couldn't get into a more active position in court, she was born the way she was. A lady of the court.
But out here, no one could stop her, no one could tell her what to do. It was just her and the ground. She was her most vulnerable out here, more calm and easy and slow. She needed more of this in her life, she had to find out how to carry it back into the castle with her... Out here, her heart was Nicholas's, when she felt like this. Inside it was harder, she had to find a way to carry this feeling around in her heart, because she wanted to love the mortal. She did.
Ronja slowed a little as he changed sides, sort of looking at her, was he waiting for something? Oh if only he could talk... Was he curious or did he just want a direction. Ronja pranced in place a little before flashing him a grin and taking off, as fast as she could go. The world whipped by in shades of brown and green and blue, the world melting like ice in the sun. Nothing was defined, but she knew this land, she wouldn't hit a thing. Her path was straight for the most part, speed being her lust, not destination.

As he came up beside her on the other side, and simply watched her, she slowed and somewhat jogged on the spot. He watched her unblinkingly, waiting to see what she would do. As she sped off, Keiji reared back, then danced on the spot for a few moments as he watched her. Pretty speedy for a body built like that! He knew that a horse's body was built for better speed than the humanesque physique of a fae. She had managed to surprise him.
Had he had a human mouth, Keiji would have been grinning. The kelpie reared again then bolted after her, nosdrils flaring as he picked up speed. It took him considerably longer than he'd expected, and rather than being annoyed by it, Keiji was amused and overjoyed. Finally someone that came close enough to his own speed!
When he caught up, he let himself burst forward and ahead of her. He turned his head slightly to watch her with one eye, while keeping the other on the way ahead. There trees in the orchard were of course further apart than those in the forest, but they were still obstacles. Keiji could easily break one or more bones in his neck if he were to collide with one. He'd of course survive, being an immortal being and all, but it was pain the he could easily avoid.
He slowed down a little and let himself run along beside her. Keiji wondered with the lovely's fae's name was. While at court, he'd caught sight of her every now and then, and he remembered because there were very very few Argentum fae with dark features like this one's. But he'd never heard her name before. Maybe if he'd paid more attention he could have caught a whisper or two, but he simply hadn't cared at the time.

Ronja slowed down after a while, she really wasn't in a rush to get covered in sweat and be out of breath. But this is just what she needed, the feeling of air rushing through her pores, leaving her face feeling fresh and tight like a snake with a new skin. Not to mention a potential new friend. Granted, she only knew him as a horse, this kelpie, but he seemed interesting enough thus far, obviously had a playful spirit.
She slowed to a stop, sensing him right at her side and smiled, "How was that?" She asked, knowing full well she wasn't getting an answer anyway. There was a stream nearby, one she often came too, funny how her feet had lead her here. She scooped up some of the crisp water in her palms and sipped it quickly. Much better. Then she turned to look at the horse again, arms folded gracefully across her chest and her head tilted to the side.
"So horse boy, you plan on staying that way?" Ronja asked after a minute, She had no idea how old a kelpie she was talking to at all. Not to mention anything else. "I'm Ronja by the way, and I think I'll just call you horse boy." She laughed and shook her head a little.

Horse boy? Oh no no no. Keiji prided himself in being a Kelpie, don't get him wrong. But he didn't want this lovely fae's first impression of him to be horse boy. It would stick with her forever, and that would be quite embarassing. He'd paced around whiled she'd drank water and then asked him how 'that' had been, that pertaining to their run. He obviously couldn't answer, so he didn't even bother comunicating to her that he'd had a good time.
But when she called him horse boy, he shook his head from side to side. He didn't want to appear naked before her... Then an idea came to him. With a slight snort, he stepped into the water, then moved to the centre of the stream, where it was deepest. As a horse, the water came a little over half-way up his legs. His body and skin then suddenly appeared as if it were melting, shifting. The transformation was always a little painful for him, and he squeezed his eyes shut as his body change shape and size, his bones moving an re-alligning.
Within moments he stood in the stream, completely changed to his human shape. The water came to his stomach, baring to her his toned chest, broad shoulders, and a face that some of the women and men at court had called lovely, beautiful, effeminate. His hair came in two shades. The hairs framing his face and at the top of his head were a light blond, almost as white as the colour of his mane when he was in his horse form, and the rest of his hair was a dark dark brown. He looked at her with the same blue eyes from before, though now they were considerably smaller and almond shaped.
"It is a pleasure to meet you m'lady."
An amused smile passed over his soft lips, "And I think I would prefer it if you were to call me Keiji..." His eyes glinted with mischief, his entire body language letting her know that he was not annoyed or angry with the nickname he'd given her, but that he meant what he said. He'd simply prefer Keiji, less embarassing.

Ronja laughed as she watched him shake his horse head, his mane swishing from the motion. She sat in the grass, leaning back on her palms, legs crossed artfully beneath her. And her kelpie companion moved into the water and transformed into his humanoid form. She took a moment to regard his physical appearance. His chest was like a dream, toned and broad. But his face was not really a look she held as attractive. But he wasn't bad looking really, he had good skin, good face shape. He was interesting to look at, that was for sure, captivating more than stunning. If that made sense, not like she would make an effort to explain.
"It's a pleasure Keiji," She said, the name rolling off her tongue experimentally. Ronja smiled, glad he could speak now. Ah the pleasure on conversation. He must be cold though, it being fall. But maybe weather didn't affect Kelpies as much. Ronja was comfortable, but she was in pants at least. She assumed he was naked beneath the water, judging by the obscure pale shimmering of the water where he stood. no introduction of another color.
"You know, Kei... do you have a nickname you like? You seem like a nickname person." She mused before shaking her head lightly. "Anyway, Keiji, you don't really have to stand waist deep in water if you don't want to. Nudity really doesn't bother me in the least." And really, she liked to be closer to people she was talking to, he was quite a bit farther away now.
Ronja shifted her weight forward, elbows resting on her knees, head tilted to the side. "So I guess you're on the 'ins' with the Argentum Court then huh."
