at these times, close your eyes and release fears
now it's started, throw yourself into the world
a world you always dreamt of, capture that dream
a small humming sound was audibly heard as small young woman sung lightly underneath her breath in a foreign language, she was singing in her native language which was japanese. she was in a rather good mood, albeit somewhat sad because earlier on, she had seen off her masters when they left on some trip. her young mistress was out too so she was left alone in the household along with the other servants. but she felt like the rest of the servants within the household didn’t really accept her fully as such due to the fact that she was half atra, half mortal. what she didn’t know that she was actually the only person in the whole of the atra court to be born half atra, half mortal. she was very much an unique individual. well, she would be if she had slightly pointy ears and baby fae wings!
chiharu didn’t really understand why she seemed to be the only one out of all the atra court to have miniature fae wings -- when she once raised this question to her master, he simply told her that she was special, more special than she realised it. when she became obviously confused by that mysterious statement, he just petted her head and told her that she would come to understand it when she was older. the young woman didn’t realise that she was one of the ten percent of the fae population to have wings, it was actually extremely rare and also it wasn’t generally accepted by the normal fae even though, long time ago, in ancient times, there was a point when all fae had wings. but not now -- however in some aspects, chiharu was lucky that she was found to be somewhat cute.
she was still young, still immature -- one of the youngest of the atra court, she even looked as if she was three years younger than her actual age. her physical age was of fifth teen years old while her actual biological age was in fact eighteen years old. which probably explained why she was so sheltered by the family she lived with when seeing most of the atra court just tended to dismiss her, ignoring her curiosity tendencies. but surely, if she was curious about something, whatever it may be that it wouldn’t cause any harm if someone taught her something? chiharu never went up to the mortal world, she always lived beneath the earth, having lived in the atra court for all of her life so she wouldn’t know the concept of time, day and night really meant. simple things like that.
chiharu was actually kenta’s slave although it wasn’t official or permanent, it meant that most of her duties involved the young master in some way meaning that she didn’t really have a lot of duties to do. although she did have some household duties, she had done them already seeing that she was such an obedient young woman, she always kept on top of her work, making sure that she finished them as soon as possible so that she could serve the young master in case he needed her at any moment. plus, it seemed as if chiharu was the only slave that he even could stand to tolerate. let’s just say whenever the young master would be in a bad mood, he was somewhat scary but chiharu always seemed to just take his moods and know various methods in order to calm him down.
so, seeing that both of her masters and young mistress were out, she could make her way to the grand library. for some reason, she always liked going there, although she couldn’t read the ancient texts, she loved to look at the assortment pictures that was inside those books. simply by flicking through the pages that contained the pictures really did make chiharu satisfied and quite contend. perhaps it was because they looked so pretty -- chiharu always did like pretty things in whatever form and shape they may be!

as soon as chiharu found herself a book that contained many pretty pictures, she went to her usual hiding place as she called it. she pulled a chair out from the table a little bit and placed her candle onto the floor underneath the centre of the table while placing her book next to the candle. feeling rather excited by the prospect of reading the pictures, she carefully huddled herself underneath the table, mindful to move the candle onto the chair that she just pulled out from underneath the tale. the young woman settled herself into the centre and grunted softly as she pulled the large book onto her lap. a soft sigh escaped from chiharu’s pale pink lips as she opened up the book and let out a soft delighted sound as her big brown eyes widened. oh, it was a picture of a pretty lady!~
