Keiji Maurelle. The name was rather well known. A former Atra who'd betrayed his people in a time of war by going and joining the enemy. Had there still been war between the courts, Keiji would have never dared come to this event. However, the temporary peace would keep him safe.
He'd escored Ronja, one of the Argentum ladies to the ball, but he'd left her socializing with a group of people and had gone off to the food stand. Keiji had snateched two candy coated apples and then gone to lean against a wall, where the shadows were thicker than anywhere else. He started by licking the candy coating off one apple, while watching all of the other guests drift through the large underground room. The outside had been glamoured to look like some normal building made by mortals, but once inside, it was undenyable that one was in a large underground chamber.
The walls has been layered with stone, but the ceiling was made of packed dirt. He watched as the colourful shapes danced through the large room, some of them light and sparkling some of them darker than the shadows he was standing in. His pink tongue moved over the glaze of the apple, and a soft sound of delight left his lips, and he smiled a little.
Once the glaze had been licked away, Keiji bit into the apple. Bright eyes scanned over the crowd, watching for anything that might catch his interest. Nothing, absolutely nothing. Then his eyes landed on her, and he went very very still, his teeth half-way sunk into the juicy meat of the apple.

A frown crossed her lips as Claudia weaved her smallf rame through the crowd of people. She wasn't enjoying this party so far, there wasn't enough people here to talk to. Or well people she rather enjoyed talking to so to be honest. As a lady of the Atra court, she'd grown rather snobbish as of recently. It wasn't her fault! It was the fact she'd been locked up alone from anyone else and the connection to the rest of humanity for so long. Humans ugh. They disgusted her. She felt the need to bathe after having any type of contact with one. Usually that's how it went for her with the stupid other members of the Atra court.
Sighing heavily, she pushed her back to the wall just watching a couple of people pass on by her. Without even a breath, she felt her lips curl into a snarl and her eyes narrow heavily. God she hated cutsie people. They were so incredibly obnoxious. That is unless they were boys. Which was probably why she adored men so damn much. Narrowing her eyes, she felt like storming after the pair and pushing them down a flight of stairs when they were makiing out or something. Claudia could be considered a bitter child, she supposed. But she tended to keep her true colors bottled up inside and put on this false interpretation of herself. One that she wanted the world to buy into without hesitation.
Twirling her drink in a cliche fashion, the girl bit down on her lower lip deciding to actually wander around and find someone to talk to. Maybe if she found someone worth-wild then she could have a interesting evening after all. She doubted she'd find him/her, but it was always worth a shot right? Of course it was. Smiling to herself, she made her way over to the little snack bar they had set up. Oh the Atra court - her home - her beloved family members. They were quite gifted in decorating. One would be surprised how deep and emotional some of the Atra Fae truly were. Little miss Arethusa was often a misconception and misinterpretation of the rest of them.
For example, Claudia being a well developed, beautiful girl. One who was well aware of her outstanding appearance and her figure. While their leader hmph, didn't have curves to hold a marble on. Which lead to the stereotype that all Atra women were flat and unappealing to men who enjoyed the curves on a lady. Wrong, very wrong. She couldn't stand stick-women. They were too tiny to be alive. It was un-natural in Claudia's mind. As her little brain wandered into deeper areas, she curled her nose in such a way, then she spotted him. Across the room but of course. A grin spread over her lips as her hands fluffed at the corners of her large green skirt. Her eyes locked with his momentarily, before she made her way through the crowd and over to the boy.
Yes, they'd met before. Claudia slipped her drink onto a nearby table that she passed, and once she'd reached Keiji, she slipped her arms innocently around his stomach line, giving him a playful grin. "Well. I wasn't aware you were going to be here my dear." The girl whispered teasingly, standing up straight as she bit into the other side of the apple, taking a tiny bit into her mouth before swallowing it. A satisfied tounge slipped over her lips to collect any remaining pieces.

Their eyes met and he made himself finish the bite into the apple, trying to keep from looking like a fool. He chewed thoughtfully as he watched her make her way through the crowd and toward him. He could almost feel his skin tingle with anticipation, as if she gave off a power that reached him before her body did. This woman had the strongest effect on him...
He took another bite from the apple, then allowed himself to enjoy the feel of her arm slipping around him. Keiji chewed, forcing his jaw to move slowly. Her physical nearness made his mind go off in a dirty direction. Keiji pictured himself turning to pin her to the wall, then taking her right then and there in front of the guests. They would all make a good audience. The mere thought that King Ealdun would not appreciate the display was all the kept him from going through with the impulse.
Keiji wasn't sure what to think of the sudden change, Ellylon stepping down and giving her little brother Ealdun the thrown. It had all been so sudden. Maybe he'd deal with it better if they'd been given advance notice. But there had been no notice at all, Ellylon was simply queen one moment, and then Ealdun was king. Just like that. There wasn't even a ceremony, one was not needed in a time of emergency. Their law allowed the current ruler to give the crown in a time of great need or in an emergency to whoever they see fit. A ceremony would have been a complete waste of time.
The other thing that knocked him off balance a little though was that there was no emergency that he knew of. Sure, another war was going to take place between the two courts, but Ellylon had ruled during the other war, she'd never wavered on any decisions, she'd ruled the court perfectly (or so was Keiji's opinion). What was the emergency? Had Ellylon simply wanted to retire? No matter, he shouldn't bother solving the minds of royalty. He would simply take orders from the one in charge and that would be that.
He watched with bemused eyes as she took a bite from his apple, and they followed her tongue as it slipped out to move over her lips. Keiji wanted to take it between his teeth and bite down gently, then part his lips and kiss her deeply. But the kelpie simply swallowed in stead. His hand slipped down and he placed it on her upper back thigh, slipping just under the skirt of her dress.
"I wouldn't miss this for the world..."
